Meet Mali

The Glades has been my home since my family fled Fidel Castro’s communistic regime in 1961 and I was sent to live with my grandparents until my parents could join us nearly two years later.  I am keenly aware that my life would not have been filled with the opportunities I have received if my parents did not make the choices they made to provide our family with a better life by coming to the United States of America. 

I am grateful to the Clewiston community that helped us realize the American Dream. My gratitude towards this community drives my deep-seated sense of responsibility to ensure all residents have opportunity in Clewiston. 

Home is where the heart is, and my heart is in Clewiston. Clewiston has more potential than any other place in Florida. I believe in the future of Clewiston and I'm looking forward to sharing that vision with you.
